May 1st, 2021Tart and lively with notes of pomegranate, strawberry candy, and earth. Easy-drinking and refreshing. Uncomplicated, but has good structure for a wine with such youth. Served slightly chilled. Purchased at Popina in Brooklyn, NY.

Feb 2nd, 2021Things of nature don’t usually exist in glowing magenta.
Cruse’s 2020 Valdigue Noveau is an ode to the Nouveaus of Beaujolais.
Like the others, his starts bubbly, fruity, carbonic. Gets interesting with a detour to raw, stemmy, rosemary woods. Finishes tart - cranberries and cedar dust.

Most of the good stuff is on the surface. Shows well initially and loses legs once you dig a little. It becomes a little insipid, tart, watery, and stemmy after a glass or two.
