Le Sol Gimblett Gravels Syrah
Beautiful fruit. Rich and concentrated. Drank the 2009 in 2017 and showing no signs of age. Yum.

Apr 28th, 2017Smooth and concentrated Syrah here. North Island beauty. Deep black fruits, truffle and pepper, fine tannins and long as hell finish. Silk and power. The wine is a winner.

Aug 3rd, 2016Black pepper, lots of fruit and ripe tannin. Well balanced, elegant and unexpected.

Jun 5th, 2015A brilliant wine. 1 of the top 10 wines this year for me. A plum infused minerality...... Rain on a hot bitumen road". A powerful persistent yet balanced palate showing great ripeness but not overdone. Most tasters would not pick this as NZ - more probably Australian. This wine would compete favourably in any International Shiraz competition. 18.5+.

Jan 17th, 2015Wonderfully elegant and understated nose that has some fantastically pure blackcurrant & cassis fruit. Some tightly wound spice and light graphite notes, great but still incredibly tight. Über! Creamy tannins and expressive, ripe black fruit but with an enrapturing and fresh acidity, great but still a pup.
