Semi-savory flavors left and right: dark, opaque purple; smelling like anise, black licorice, cedar; some chocolate and a black pepper finish on a classic dusty Italian palate, with tannins that have a lil grip in em. Probably not the perfect pairing for pepperoni pizza, but a fun thinker regardless. Good value for the complexity. Phew!

Nice medium body wine. Drank with a traditional spaghetti and meatballs dish which was an ideal match.
