Cossetti Clemente e Figli Barbera D'Asti Superior 2014, Italy
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity.
Fruity nose of cherries, sweet raspberries, strawberries, light wood, licorice, spices, herbs, cherry pie and light black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, oak, tobacco leaf, spices, graphite, eaucaliptus and peppercorn.
Medium on the finish with soft tannins and tangy pomegranates.
This Northern Italy Barbara is drinking nicely now, with interesting acidity and a nice mouthfeel. Feels very fruity for an old world wine.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly and show all those cherry flavors. I liked it better when chilled.
Good by itself and better with food.
I enjoyed it by the pool, with nice weather and parmesan cheese.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
87 Points.
$15.
