Pretty ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

On the nose blueberries, cherries, strawberries, wood, spices, coffee, cola, pencil lead, leather, mint and black pepper.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, oak, smoke, tobacco leaf, spices, earth, graphite, bitter herbs and peppercorn.

Medium finish with soft tannins, black pepper and tangy raspberries.

This Italian Barbera is a good food wine. Showing mild complexity with a soft mouth feel and bright acidity. Feels more like a new world red wine.

I really liked the nose here. Better after 2 hours in a decanter.

I paired it with charcuterie board of crackers meats and a soft goat cheese.
