A burger tames the youthful qualities of this quite nicely. Better in 3-5 years.

Absolutely fantastic Barbera D’Alba. Very aromatic, totally indicative of Alba, so much expression of land and place. Monforte. $28 at B21. Drinkable now but has huge potential for age-ability, 6-10 years in cellar. One of the best Barbera’s I’ve tasted in a long time.!

Lots of concentration for a Barbera. Fully mature, but still plenty of tannic structure and fresh acidity. Flowers, earth, black cherry and dark chocolate.

Dark red color with a nice dark berry nose and a big complex body with a somewhat complex body and a long aftertaste. This is a modern Barbers that would compete with the Barbaresco’s & Barolo’s, but with much less need for aging & much less cost, but with less complexity.

Nice nose, deep red color with a lovely medium to full body with some complexity and a decent medium aftertaste. A lovely wine that dispels the “cheap red grape” thoughts about this grape. It still has several years in a cool cellar. An easy 90/100.
