A time-bomb sort of wine. Starts out simple and tart, almost like a Chianti. Then it got kind of mean and astringent. As if the wine itself had become a hungry, on edge, asking for food. Fed the beast pizza, which steered it into benevolent "animale" territory. Heartily recommended for natural wine doubters; this wine was/is ALIVE, and that energy is what I look for in non-interventionist wine (more so than flavor). Bought at Frankly Wines, NYC... $39?

I love this one. Tart red fruit. Strawberries and cherries. An old favorite. Never disappoints.

Last bottle of this confounding changeable wine. Bretty first day. Second day savory, rustic, harmonious. Some bottle variation experienced and different lot and vintages completely different.

This was my choice 2 when the valpolicella I wanted was $250. "Non vintage" was the answer I got when I asked the Somm the year. Must research. So good.
