Aug 22nd, 2015Even better than the 2011 vintage, which was already stunning. This is a gorgeous Verdicchio for a mere 13.99. Aromatics gently unfurl to reveal layers of orange peel, white flowers and minerality along with a piney high note of crisp mountain air. On the palate it's bright, with chalky notes of wet seashell and ripe peach. Perhaps the most evocative quality of this wine is the intense and lengthy, citrusy finish that just goes on and on and on.
