Nose is ripe blackberries verging on preserves with white pepper in the background. On the palate it's on the lighter side, lacking somewhat in fruit, but definitely showing that pepper. Would probably benefit from some decanting to bring out that black fruit from the nose.

Blackberry, plum jam. Some white pepper in the back with a light body. Finish is quick and the body is just a little too light for the bold fruits going on. Still a good wine for the value.

Dry with medium body. Aroma of menthol and sitting by a bush near a stream. Heavy on pear and concord grape with notes of pie crust and blackberries with a lime like acidity.

This wine was advertised with the tag line "one glass of this Syrah will take you straight to a cozy cottage in the French countryside". Well, here I am... Still in Phoenix, Arizona and I've consumed 2 glasses. 😔 Aside from my disappointment at not being transported I do enjoy the wine. It's no cozy French cottage but it's a fun sip.
