The name is spot on - this is a mysterious potion of a blend. Decanted and enjoyed over a couple hours, this initially had a few minutes of bracing funk and acidity that quickly blew off. On the nose, blueberries, smoked meat, and dried rosemary. The taste has notes of ripe plums and raspberries. Medium bodied, and has strong but balanced acid and tannic character that make this a delight to drink and suggests even more time in the cellar would be interesting. Enjoyed with spicy Italian sausage and tomato sauce. This blend (Syrah/Merlot/Viognier) would appeal to cab/Bordeaux drinkers who want something a little more unusual and unpredictable. Looking forward to drinking again.

Oh wow. Blueberries, tart plum, licorice. Seductive. Can't wait to try more from this producer!

Great acidity. Medium plus body. Strong flavors of raisin, fruity dark chocolate, dark plums, dark cherries. Well balance between palate notes and texture. Easy drinking. Does not suck.

I love digging through wine lists in Sacramento - so much CA history without big mark ups.
