La Combe des Fous Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Just starting to open up. Pop and pour.

Decanted 5 hours. Initially quite alcoholic. Subdued aromatics. Fig, plum, coffee grind attack. Good length. Adolescent with room to grow.

Got better with a lot of air. Nail polish remover on the nose and a slight spritz on the palate. I don't get it.

Another lovely wine I tries today.

2008. Tough vintage and deft winemaking. Quite happy.

The Maurel brothers made the best out of the 2008 vintage.

2011 straight tight interesting

Extraordinary depth and power. Plums& raisins Should age nicely for another decade or two!
