Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee. Incredible hosting by Joe. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine, all tasted blind.

This really epitomized CdP. I called it 10yr old CdP. The black pepper has died down and integrated well with the spicy red fruit and underripe black fruit. Hint of tart/iron, but overall, this was really smooth. No problem open and enjoying these now.

Badass in a glass!
Wow., this 2011 is really, really coming into its own. Beautifully CDP. I uncork one last year and what it's done in a year is awesome!! I would definitely start popping these now. 👍😍🍷🍷😍👍

The clos des papes was so pristine and pure, no wood, but it was massive in the mouth and very finessed at once, bursting with baskets of cherry raspberry and blackberry in dried thyme and wet rocks, couldn't smell alcohol at all and fruit smelled so pure, palate was mega concentrated with a herb and mineral finish, and waves of fresh fruit, felt the alcohol 15.5%!! A bit in the back end, Tannins were very fine and regal, no astringency at all but plenty of grip. A blockbuster but still carried itself with freshness, balance and purity, a fantastic wine that shouldnt be touched for at least 5 more years and for sure will age well for another 15-20. A relative value at $119, and very burgundian in its purity and lacey texture. 2011 vintage.

Ruby red with notes of dried herbs, red cherry, white chocolate and raspberries. A very good medium body CDP that is holding its own.
