Clos De La Roilette
Beaujolais Gamay
Thanksgiving accompaniment & interesting taste after trying the Tardive several weeks ago. Really was two different wines, & have to say I think this needed larger stemware to really showcase. That said, this is coiled & taut, a big Beaujolais with creosote & eucalyptus notes that I did not find in the Tardive. Black fruits & a near black red color. Plenty of stuffing for several years I imagine. The more I drink Roilette the more I feel it’s almost not fair to compare it to other Beaujolais. It tastes like it’s own style and a separate, distinct class of wine. A second bottle awaits, along w bigger stemware & perhaps a decant.
