Cliff Lede Vineyards
Poetry Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Textbook Stag’s Leap cabernet at its apogee. Velvety dark chocolate fondant, black fruit, pencil lead. All a bit muted to great effect. Awesome.

May 10th, 2017While this doesn't approach the ethereal '07 Poetry, this 1st vintage was profound. Melka influence? Not sure but spice box and pencil lead nose and a long, 40 second cassis and stewed blueberry finish just starting to give up some beautiful secondary vanilla and flinty stuff. Maybe beyond the great wine at Lede, the rock and roll vibe of the whole place is knit into the terroir. Don't miss the original Dead concert posters if you can find time for a visit! Kudos to Rick.
