Centenario Grasparossa di Castelvetro Lambrusco Amabile

A bouquet of blackberry, dusty rose and wet stone lifts up from the darkly alluring NV Lambrusco Grasparossa Centenario Amabile. This glides across the palate with silky bubbles and a pretty inner sweetness, contrasted by tart wild berry fruits and saline-mineral tones. It leaves a staining of fruit concentration yet finishes with a minty freshness. (Eric Guido, Vinous, March 2023)

Good: best Lambrusco I've had in the US. Bad: just okay. Slightly sweet, effervescent, and better than most champagnes.

Smooth, "amabile", good for pairings with Emilia Romagna tasty and fat foods.

Thoroughly enjoyed. Drier style with cranberry and spices. Not a holiday wine per se but a great deep sparkler.

Had with lamb and brown rice on the patio, light, refreshing, vibrant. It's what Lambrusco is supposed to be.
