This is Mendo Merlot at its finest. Ruby red like the gemstone. Smells nice. Roses, raspberry licorice and dried black cherries. Tastes nice. Hint of herbs like basil, lavender and tarragon to go with the rocks and bitter elderberries berries. It’s pretty light on the tongue body-wise, but dense with flavor. If you’re look for a Merlot that’s a bit off the beaten track, this fits the bill.
