As my followers know, I love big California cabs. I also love spicy Zinfandels. Well this is NEITHER OF THOSE. But it has characteristics of both. It is not super dry. It is not sweet nor jammy! It does not have the young wine immaturity taste. There is no need to decant. There Absolutely no sourness at all. This is Chronic Cellars 2016 Ricardo Grande from Paso Robles. It is a 90% Syrah, 7% Grenache, and 3% Mourvedre. This is a big boy!!!!! This is amazing. The initial kick is dark blackberry and currant- minimal tartness. The mid palate slides into major SPICE with Oak and tobacco splashing in on the sides. The finish is so clean and good. Minimal aftertaste and mildly dry. Im buying more of this one!!!
