To be honest with you, I don’t drink a lot of moscato. However I added this bottle of Chrismont 'La Zona' Moscato 2019 to my Good Pair Days order to drink on World Moscato Day (9 May) + as research for my moscato blog post: https://travellingcorkscrew.com.au/blog/moscato-wine/
I am actually surprised that we ended up drinking the whole bottle and both Mr Spittoon and I enjoyed it.
It weighs in at only 8.5% and although it’s on the sweeter side it was perfectly balanced with acidity. It would make an excellent breakfast or brunch wine, especially its little bit of fizz too.
It’s made from white Frontignac grapes grown in Victoria’s King Valley region.
In the glass it’s a brilliant yellow with a hint of fizz to it. Honeysuckle florals, candied
citrus, lemonade and juicy orchard fruit notes rise from the glass. The classic moscato sweetness is there but it’s balanced with acidity making it pretty darn refreshing and smashable.
All opinions are my own. Drink what you enjoy!
