Sharp nose of cedar and leather, pepper and cranberry. Smells like an old woodshop you want to explore. Thick red color, leggy. Bit of acid, bit of bite, pretty sharp tannic feel, crisp medium-light body. Crisp green pepper, underripe red cherry, crushed rock, leather. Astringent light body that underpins but doesn't redefine the wood shop/green pepper nose. Lacks a noticeable or lingering finish, which is probably a significant weakness compared to much more expensive Bordeaux wines. But I love it! The aroma is ineffable and enticing.
