Château Val d'Arenc
Bandol Mourvedre Grenache
This is really drinking well at the moment - Medium ruby with an appealing earthy, violet and wild thyme scented nose. There is a bit of bacon fat in the background and plenty of appealing strawberry, black cherry and grilled meat notes. This hits all the bases for a Bandol - a fun wine that doesn’t give up its serious side. Long finish, and the tannins are soft enough to let this match beautifully with a range of foods. I had it with a Moroccan chicken and a wonderful grilled grouper and it paired beautifully with both.
