Actually, this was a 1997 Chave Hermitage which was snuck past Check Point Charlie at Chateau Ste Michelle during a Gregg Allman concert. Great nose, spicy, with a humid layer of tomato. Really reminds one what is great about authentic wine, no matter what the label says. Thanks Jean Louis!
