Chateau St. Jean
Durell Vineyard Sonoma Valley Chardonnay
This six-year-old Single Vineyard Chardonnay is drinking very nicely now.
Full-bodied, creamy and buttery, with medium acidity.
Showing cedar, vanilla, spices, lemons, apples, pears, melons and white pepper.
Not my style, but a good quality wine. A little okey for me, and hot and unbalanced.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
$40.

Peach and vanilla on the nose. Tart green apple upfront, that develops into citrus blossom, and honeydew. Definitely got a hot/spicy finish from the alcohol content.

Jan 2nd, 2017Dark gold in color with a fair amount of viscosity. Subtle aroma, yellow apple, toffee, and saline. Starts with some Meyer lemon, and pineapple. Mid palate gets creamy and curd like. It then finished with white peach and starfruit notes.
