Another wine from Entre-Deux-Mers region this time the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux. Nose starts out of oak and fruit and this comes across as a bold wine full of ripe flavors and solid tannins. 50% Merlot 37% Cab Sauv 5% Cab Franc. Well structured and pretty delicious for a well priced wine. Apparently the vineyards were replaced in 2004 and this wine was made from a partnership of growers. Remind me all most of California wine and it’s intense flavors, possibly these guys were influenced by the new breed of winemakers. Who knows. Definitely worth a try but don’t pay any more than $15.

Nose of black currant and some spices. Oak in here too. Rather discreet. Lean palate with currant all along the acid backbone and some firm tannins in the rear. Lovely finish with currant and some oaky notes. OK
