Nearly flawless Bordeaux blend, this Margaux has subtle, but complex flavors (dark berries and mild spice), but mild tannin, enjoyed in Fontainebleau and Maine (Provisions)

2015 vintage. Last tasted 8.7.22. Rated 9.3. The spearmint and smoke fully invested in the nose. Medium body. Mushroom, coffee grounds, toffee, cinnamon, raisin still in the flavor profile. Tannins holding court on the finish. Initial impression was that the tannins were powdery but with a little bit of airtime, the tannins picked up serious steam. Best showing out of multiple bottles tasted in the last two years. Tasting now like top of the bell curve/the optimal pleasure zone will be roughly 2029-2039. Enough stuffing/fail safes to conservatively support that projection.

Medium purple/ruby with aromas of black cherries, anise, tobacco, dried herbs, and a bit of bell pepper. Dry with softened tannins. Medium-bodied with a decently long finish. Not bad, but not my favorite style.

2015 vintage. Nose is now dynamite. Baby fat almost entirely gonzo. Some toffee and cinnamon notes now flavor wise.

2015 vintage. Nose mostly spearmint and smoke. Medium body but (still) heavy for Margaux. A hint of baby fat remains up front but not nearly what was in your face just a year ago. This is growing old gracefully. Mushroom and dust in the nose. Coffee grounds, some light raisin/prune, tobacco, baking chocolate making their collective presence known on the back end. Thins out a tad bodywise on the finish but flavors hold their ground for an impressive distance.

Recently tasted 9.8.21, 7.28.21 and 6.1.21. Like the old Van Morrison album...a period of transition. Mid-palate a tad dumbed-down but the nose is clearer and airy with spearmint and tobacco. Some new cinnamon/clove infiltrating the bouquet and palate now. Still a little richness/baby fat/smoke lurking about but said intensities increasing less every time tasted. Really need to lock and key this until 2030. Good luck.

2015 vintage. Last tasted 7.28.21 and 6.1.21. Smoke, coriander, roasted nuts and dark cherry still wafting throughout the nose but it’s picked up a leather/cedar habit to add to the dossier. Consistently medium-bodied altho starting to transition ever so slightly to light medium body. Baby fat almost completely gonzo. Finish maintaining balanced fruit/acidity and keeping a 30+ second wave goodbye. Cocoa powder that was dancing circles around the endgame palate six weeks ago is on vacation.
