Wednesday Wine Committee “Founder’s Day”, honoring those who started this tradition back in the ‘70s. What an incredible group and tradition they started!
This was my wine of the day even though I guessed wrong. I called it Spanish Grenache. I got some unique oak on this (American or Hungarian) that added a lovely sweet oak note to the nose. Deep red/purple core with blackberry, touch of blueberry and rhubarb. Had a fleshy, spicy red fruit characteristic that I associate with Grenache.
