2019 vintage. Previously a label for the second wine of Château Léoville-Poyferré, but a separate estate since the 2009 vintage. Moulin Riche is a 20 hectares vineyard in one block, planted with 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and an unusually high Petit Verdot percentage of 23%. This 2019 is a blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 11% Petit Verdot. It features an attractive nose with cassis, blackberry and violets. It is definitely made in the Léoville-Poyferré style (the sexiest of the 3 Léovilles) with its lush ripe fruit and perfectly ripe tannic backbone. It would be interesting to compare this to the second wine of Léoville-Poyferré. Should age well, but very attractive already. Abv. 14%.
