1978 is impressive

‘78 Vintage. Big, brooding tannins. Bold, dark berries and tobacco. Great intensity.

Nice structure and power

Beautiful. Violets, cassis, blackberry. Dark and brooding.

So impressed. Definitely tertiary-dominant with notes of fig, dried prune, dates, cigar, tobacco, leather, meat and forest floor.

Pleasant nose of pencil shavings, dried cranberry,a little musty with age but clean and wonderful. Mid bodied with sharp tartaric acidity and a lingering finish. Yay!

For the birthday boy! Pencil, petrol and the last legs of cranberry. The only old vintage I’ve liked so far.

This is why I love older Bordeaux showing complex notes of red berry fruits, leather, earth, tobacco & spice. Still drinking well at 40 yrs with many more years ahead.

We started the afternoon with the oldest of the lineup. Very well balanced extremely light and good wine. Fruits and wood very active in the wine. Beautiful. Ready for now!!! Don't wait.
