2006 followed the grand 2005 vintage. It was overpriced based on 2005 & critically reviewed as a difficult vintage. I can tell you 06 was overpriced, but still a good to very good vintage depending on the region & producer.
The fruits are classic Bordeaux…nicely ripe; blackberries, black raspberries, very dark cherries, black plum, plum, mix of strawberries & red cherries. Wet, volcanic clay, lead pencil for days, slightly, dry tobacco, dark spices, mix of mostly dry & fresh herbs, clove, nutmeg, some cinnamon & vanillin, volcanic ash, used leather, sandalwood to cedar, forest floor w/ dry leaves, dry river stone, steeped, dark fruit tea, withering, slightly candied; dark, red florals with hints of violets, round, fresh, river stream acidy, a plush, round, elegant, nicely; tensioned, structured, balanced and elegant polished finish that last 90 seconds.

We had the 2006 Vintage on 7/27-28/24. A nice Old World, medium to full bodied wine with a long finish. Scents and a palate of blackberry, black cherry, plum, graphite and camphor. The tannins were fine and smoothed out with aeration. A very good wine.

Jul 27th, 2024Splendid! Completely matured. 30 min, woke up! That helped me, since the bottle keeper forgot to open the bottle before… Black currant. Concentration and elegancy are well balanced. Mid + body. Complexity but very smooth and gentle. 2006 @2660, xiaduo - Lazo, 220318-220323

Mar 18th, 2022We had the 2006 Vintage on 12/18-19/20. The bouquet has red fruit and violet. Very floral. Black cherry, leather, and oak on the palate. An Old World wine that has a nice mix of fruit and earthiness.
