Château Lousteauneuf
Médoc
This 24 hectares estate is owned by Bruno Segond. The 2018 vintage is a blend of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot and a dash of Merlot, aged in oak and amphoras. Apparently the percentage of Petit Verdot is quite high, which would explain the purple rim in the colour and the violets in the nose. Another great Bordeaux value at less than 12 euros. Black fruits and violets, ripe and concentrated, with a serious chewy tannin structure and good length. While it is very nice already, this needs a few more years. Abv. 13,5 %. P. S. : According to wincellarinsider this estate also produces a 100% Petit Verdot wine.

Nov 6th, 2020Dense nose of black currant, coffee, mushrooms, strawberry. The palate is very good ! Superb fruit at the beginning, nice acid frame and quite a long finish, wide, ample with a touch of delicate bitterness. Good solid wine

Aug 18th, 2015Nice wine! Black currant, tar, cedar, meat juice, some soy sauce too. The palate is broad, shows a nice cassis, black currant note, a good, subtle mouthfeel at first that changes abruptly in mid palate with a great tannic wall that lays a strong drying layer over a long, black currant driven finish with some savory notes and a tiny bitter touch in the very end. Classic, good, superb value, médoc wine.
