In honor of the late Steven Spurrier I’m drinking this 25 year old Cru left bank Bordeaux. In transition to a pale garnet👁. Aromas of decaying violet, black cherry, and sandalwood. For price of around $25 and the age it’s holding up surprisingly well. On the palate it’s unmistakable juicy black cherry. Additional notes of allspice and mint. It’s a bit out of balance with somewhat harsh acidity. Tannins have almost completely left this wine. Still can’t complain for the age price combo. Drank bottle at home.

Nice wine with aromas of mushrooms, forest floor and leather on the nose. Lots of red fruit in the mouth. Still good soft tannins. Great pairing with a steak.
