Château Les Clauzots
Graves Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose with black fruits and chocolate notes.
Full-bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, black currants, coffee, oak, earth, herbs, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly.
Wine Enthusiasts 88 points.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
$25.

A little musty, but enough tannins to break through the must. At 10 years with imperfect cellaring, for the price, pretty dang good. Not a soloist any more. Needs a food accompaniment.

Mar 27th, 2022Quality wine. A nice merlot dominant Bordeaux. For me there's not much going on here until you drink with food. With a steak, this wine gets to show off its delicate nature. Never too powerful. But elegant all the way through. Finishing at a medium length, this wine is very good. It was not my style of Bordeaux, but I can appreciate the quality from this producer.

Nov 5th, 2019Upon opening tasted like the bottom of a dirty shoe. Became a bit less repulsive as it opened up. Also a ton of sediment at the bottom.
