Ruby red. I think they call it ‘claret red’. Aroma is elegant. Little horsey stuff to go with the berry. Also some wet rocks or fresh stream bank smell in there. Flavor is very dry. Plenty of bitterness and a hint of funk. Streak of brandy. Some cola. Little bark of an aromatic tree (cedar or redwood come to mind). It’s definitely French. Has that bitter, dramatic ‘winey’ taste to it. Balance is good. It’s pretty classic Bordeaux. And that’s a good thing. And I think it was $7-8 at the olde Gross Out, and that’s an even better thing.
