When things are great, they’re worth redoing!

The Wagyu Ribcap & Rib Cover steaks comparison from Allen Brothers. The sell only the top 1% of beef.

The Barton is 100% steak wine.

Classic Caret even in a marginal vintage...Anthony to the rescue.

The body is medium to full & sails on the palate. Ripe & ruby; blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, black plum, uncooked rhubarb with hue of raspberries. Cedar, sandstone/limestone, tobacco, leather, graphite, dry river stones, dark, rich, earth, licorice, dark cola, dark spice with heat, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, moist clay, melted caramel & mocha, dark chocolate bar, black pepper with bright, candied, fresh, dark, red, purple & blue florals. the acidity is a gentle, cool to warm rain shower. The finish is, all St. Julien elegance, well intergraded, balanced, landing on earth & spice that is persistent for days.

Hard to keep up with the big boys that came before it. Nice nonetheless.

For our 13th anniversary weekend. One of the best 2004's with excellent full bodied St. Julien Cabernet power. So much texture for this leaner vintage and none of the green flavors (even though I don't mind them) that wine lovers attribute to this vintage. Great with steak frites!

Felt a bit tired after a decant, but slowly came to life. I'd drink this soon though

The 2004 Langoa Barton needs a couple of hours of air, but it is very approachable right now. Lots of earthy, barnyard elements, along with dark fruits, cedar, tobacco, and vanilla. Medium weight on the palate, and perhaps a bit understated. Soft tannins and medium acidity on the finish. Compared to the more serious and structured 2005, this is the one to open now. Should still age and improve for well over a decade

Unfortunately this was not a crowd pleaser at the blind tasting, but everyone saw the Chateau they were a but surprised too!
