Château Labégorce
Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
I gave it some time out of the bottle which would lead to more plummy notes, more ripe and also almost raw pear, interestingly, and a hints more of baking spice. The tannins were perfect from the top. As was the alcohol level. And body. So inoffensive in every way. Other than that unremarkable but right in line with what I paid for a magnum. Fucking simple but also totally delicious and so swillable with stuffing and cranberry which is all I need. For the price I’d try again for a dinner of tastiness that I don’t need to think too much about.

Nov 24th, 2017Strained and decanted for about an hour. Mouth watering throughout. Earthy with hints of currant and touches of black berries. Tannins were present but mellowed.

Nov 20th, 201683/100 Served in 1* Michelin restaurant at warm evening room temperature! I asked the Sommelier and the response was, we have no Enclave! Dumbfounded, it must have been 22C or more. It went to the fridge for a while and recovered a little.
Good nose of black fruit, little coffee and oak, the palate has nice earthy tones and is smoothed by time, giving a very enjoyable mouth feel and a mind-range finish.
