Wow this is great! The nose is made of meat juice, cedar, tobacco leaves, oak and vanilla, black currant and an earthy thing which is typical for pomerol in my mind. The palate is well designed with a massive acid backbone, a bright red and black berries note all along, a good width, a velvety mouthfeel. In the rear tannins kick in adding a dry layer which is stylish and elegant, and that carries on on the finish with black currant, some oaky notes too, a reminiscence of the meat juice notes that could be felt on the nose and a tiny bit of bitterness. This is a great effort, what a wine in this vintage! Served along a massive ribeye steak that had matured for 42 days... A pairing made in heaven
