Château La Papeterie
Montagne-Saint-Émilion Merlot Cabernet Franc
From the Estager family. With
patience, this wine unwinds nicely, with black cherry/plum fruit and a fresh earthiness, with modest oak (25% new barrels). For me, this sets the benchmark for affordable right bank wine.

Wonderful all around with pasta or bean soup or cheese.

Dec 1st, 2015Really enjoyed the '08 or '09, can't recall which, but the 2010 has disappointed a couple times. Not bad, just not conjuring up the same reaction as past years.

Aug 24th, 2015This wine has an extremely smooth feel. There is nice mix of plum, sweet tobacco and dark cherry. There is also a nice light spice that continues through to the finish. Tannins are moderate, but the fruit flavor shows through. This is a great buy for an introduction to wines from this region.
