A classic wine that performs exactly as expected and then just pushes higher. Impeccable balance, depth and vibrancy here. Smoke, licorice, blue fruits, saddle leather, rich soil and stewed fig. Still drinking youthfully but not without a slight dash of secondary characteristics like band-aid/gym socks to remind you that this is from the Hexagon.

2000 vintage. Great fill. Awesome cork. Decanted and tasted after 45 mins and 4 hours. Some sed but not as much as expected. Plenty of sleepy time funk for the first 10 minutes in the decanter. Then, things started to unlock. Medium body. A little bit of everything: spice, richness, tannins, concentration, softness, fruit, earth tones. Phenomenal now and may not improve but wagering that another 3-10 years might just find this at the absolute zenith of the bell curve. There's a reason why this estate is one of my two fave BDX estates. 2.15.24.
