Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

Huge nose of cedar and black fruit foretold the big-and-richness of this one. Huge mouthfeel, loaded with black currant and sweet woodsy tannins. Very early in its evolution, has some serious improvement to go with cellaring.

Big and rich. Solid tannin core with soaring fruit in the palate. Great nose and palate and finish. Lovely and complex. Number 2 wine of the night. A great success.

Drank over course of 3 hours- opened w red plum and cow patties, cedar and rotting flowers, cooked cherry and sage. Plush and soft- evolved into hot cocoa and prunes. Potpourri-like bouquet developed after an hour- I called it a bouquet of delightfulness. Impressive and a serious treat!

Wonderful, so big and ready to drink. Silk.

Black cherries as well as raspberries mixed with some hints of mocha and earthy tones. Still drinking on the younger side of things.

I’m not a fan of merlot, and I don’t know much about Bordeaux, but I do have to say this was really enlightening. I only got a slight hint of age on the finish for the first 30 minutes we tasted it. It had a huge savory-meaty aroma that jumped out of the glass, and the dark fruit, black licorice, some herbal flavors had great persistence... still had plenty of acidity. after about an hour it started to taste a little tired compared to the beginning, definitely showed a bit more age but it was still subtle. I’ll remember it for a while. Maybe it was much bigger when it was younger, but I thought it was well balanced. And maybe it wasn’t the best example, but it kind of opened my eyes to merlot and pomerol.

Still pop and opened as the evening progressed as usual. Blackberries and soft finish as expected. One of my favs.

Wonderful and very little to complain about. Big big big and smooth throughout. She's well put together and at just 21 years old, she'll continue to soften.
