Dense purple with a nose of spring flowers and sweet kirsch liquor. Full bodied, masculine in style, dark red fruit, creme de cassis as licorice dominate the palate. Velvety tannins and a smooth finish; this wine has quite a few more years before it hits it's peak.

Very enjoyable Bordeaux from Saint Emillion. Reflecting a little age but good dark berry fruit up front and good depth too. I think this wine needs to be enjoyed over next five years.

2005 Saint-Emilio Grand Cru. Garnet tones with brick at the edges. At first open, still lots of forward fruit and very subdued tannins. Over the course of the next hour, the wine really opened with no expense to the fruit. Significant graphite and some meat-like flavors. Very classic, superior Bordeaux.
