I am intrigued by cheap claret. This wine however does not taste like Bordeaux, it is quite light and slightly acidic. There is a little blackberries initially and as it develops there is a little leather and burnt chocolate and coffee. The best bit of the wine is after the harsh tannins have left and the long finish comes into its own.
Not a world beater and perhaps the environment I drank it in contributed most to my enjoyment. But it is not that bad.
