Classy, elegant, terroir driven claret. We paired this with our first Donabe, and it worked... But I can't help thinking that it would have been better with a grilled ribeye. This is still young but the finish is already there- super long and mineral!

A lovely elegant Grand Cru, doing very well on this difficult vintage. This blend of 60%CS, 40% merlot, has a deep dark red color, aseductive elegant nose with plums, violets, licorice, chocolate, black raspberry, toasted oak and hint of peppers, medium- full body with ripe tannins, elegance and complexity. Long delicious dry finish that will most certainly will evolve over time. Still a baby that will hope fully continue to mature into a prince. My score 89, drink to 2026

This was actually Haut Bailly's third wine ( the wine list just said Ch. Haut Bailly ), but for a third wine and the moderate price, it was nice

This afternoon I had the pleasure of dinning with a 2009 Chateau Haut-Bailly. Made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc and I can see why 09' is the vintage it is with great fineness.

There are beautiful aromas of dark fruit, black cherry, black plum, blackberry, black currant, mocha, wet soil, and minerals.

The first sip shows its elegance right away that is velvety smooth and great depth. Beautiful dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, fig, plums, black currant, graphite, and violets.

This is a full bodied wine with medium + acidity, medium+ gripping tannins with a long pleasing finish. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🖒

Cinnamon says that if any wine deserves 100, this is it. Astounding length, balance and true concentration in a package that never strays from medium bodied, dry and food friendly. Like any great wine, words don't do it justice. With ribeye, Emperess rice and asparagus.
