For the master's final round I'm breaking out the big guns. I can't think of a more appropriate region to head to than the Médoc, the Haut Medoc, and more specifically Pauillac. Initial impression before decanting is a woodsy, cedar wine with melted graphite, steel, black currant, and cranberry. This complex, bold, full bodied wine show incredible precision and refinement. Will update once this wine has caught it's breath.

Baby yet, gorgeous fruit aromatics, lead pencil/graphite. Strong tannins, needs time.

Brilliant. Gained color and sweetness with 45-60 in the decanter. Fully resolved, mostly secondary (some tertiary) and a streak of raspberry to tie it together. Great length, capsicum nose faded with air.

Delightful Pauillac. Correct, as-expected, just-right, I-will-have-another-sip, I'm-happy-I-opened-this-now Bordeaux. Yes it's very good and you can start drinking it now.

"Delicious. At peak and showing very well. Nicely balanced with great mouth feel. Moderate nose... Subtle blue berries and pencil shavings. On the palate, herbaceous and smoky."

Tremendous. I feel like the earlier ratings on this wine were way way off. After 10 years in the bottle this wine is just starting to show its true character. Its glorious dramatic and has a great finish.
