Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste
Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend
Pencil lead, very dark, youthful dense color, this seems barely evolved, and I’d guess has 25-30 more years of development ahead, rich, structured, great balance, fantastic older Pauillac!!

Mar 5th, 2022Another fresh and lively ‘86 Bordeaux, pencil lead, dark fruits, still pretty youthful and vibrant, great balancing acidity, solid structure, long finish, just a tad more power than the more elegant ‘86 Pichon Lalande from last night!!

Mar 3rd, 2021Great youthful purple color still, rich dark fruits, quite structured still, long finish, really a terrific Pauillac from a somewhat tannic vintage, will easily last many more years!!

Dec 19th, 2019Drink now. Light mineral on the palate, smooth, nice finish. Still an enjoyable nose. To open recommend using a "twist up" or two-flat-pronged opener rather than a normal cork screw. Cork was slightly spongy and moist half way. This appears typical of older French wines. Enjoyed with New York Strip, with a Gorgonzola cream sauce, as well as Grilled chicken and Bowtie pasta, with a garlic cream sauce.

Jun 29th, 2017Definitely not the best vintage, a bit too much leather and not enough fruit.
