Château Figeac
St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend
What a beautiful wine! So velvety and generous. Highly recommended. #alltheroadsleadtoanagedbordeaux

May 27th, 2017Medium garnet, intense aromas of dried herbs, tobacco, dried strawberry, dried cherry, forest floor, farmyard and green bell pepper introduce the 2001 Château Figeac. Full-bodied, creamy textured and with rustic, ripe tannins, the palate belongs to a hedonistic, sexy beast of a wine built for a long life in bottle. Everything is in perfect balance. If spotted on a wine list at a decent price, I wouldn't hesitate. Drink now until 2035.

Apr 22nd, 2017Amazing Bordeaux! Extremely subtle notes in this powerful beauty. We paired it with aged Manchego and it was delicious!

Dec 4th, 2016While it still appears young, it is already starting to show some of that aged Figeac charm. Bright red cherry, raspberry, herbs, damp earth, spices, and tobacco leaf create a charming array of complex aromas. Less power, more elegance with this wine, but perhaps not as nuanced and layered as some other right bank wines from 2001. Still, this is easy drinking and a great food wine. The tannins are a bit forward right now, but I guess this will hit its stride in a couple more years.
