Just what vintage Bordeaux should be. They say 82 was the intro to the modern style. maybe it's the age, but this wine has the elegance and power I expect out of claret, yet so refined and balanced. Harvested almost the same time as 45s. It could definitely go for longer, but damn near perfect now.

1982: Green pepper anyone? Certainly has the most personality of the focused flight of 82's opened today. Undiminished from first experience from a magnum a decade ago.

I had my first bottle with Thierry Manoncourt years ago. This one brought back a lot of memories.

Not too bad. It needed a little to open up and then it was much better.

Still good fruit, but lots of cigar box, spice, cedar, some very mild vanilla notes, some funk. Drinking very well now.
