An Italian varietal blend from Georgia. Not that Georgia, our Georgia. Deep and impenetrably dark in the glass, almost black, with a wide brim. An explosion of ripe red fruits on the nose with cherries, plums, and subtle strawberries. There’s a bit of smoky wood there too. Never in a million years did I think I would end up enjoying a Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Montepulciano blend coming straight out of Braselton, GA but I do. Full bodied with nice, round tannins. Dry as all get out with a surprisingly long finish. On the palate there’s more fruit to go with the spice, cedar, and slight hint of leather. This is an incredibly fun wine and I really need to get some more.
