This dog needed 4 hrs to really open up. When I first opened it and tasted without decanting, all I got was a blast of pencil lead, oak, chocolate, coffee. Was left wondering what happened to the fruits!! Left it alone for 4 hours and it opened up beautifully. Got cassis, ripe strawberries, black currents, ripe cherries with hawthorns, violets and then truffles, chocolate, curry leaves. Got the same on the palate, though maybe truffle was not there. Dry wine, medium minus acidity, medium plus tannins and a long earthy finish. This was fun to drink. Linear wine and would have guessed $75-100 bucks for a bottle I got for $30 bucks..the trick was leaving it alone for 4 hrs.
