McCarthy & Schiering, $17
Weak nose, but pleasant dark fruit and a touch of earth/wood. Immediately hit with a bright freshness that is very different to the only other Malbecs I've had from Argentina - this isn't rich and jammy at all. Very easy to drink, fruity - blackberry/plum with a touch of wood even though this wine isn't oaked at all, medium tannins, really well balanced. Quite liked it and definitely piqued my interest in more French Malbec, but for the price I'd hoped for a little more.

Oct 7th, 2021Still too young, could use a bit more aging and needed at least 30 minutes to open up and breathe. Still nice and good value.
