Finally softened and hit stride. Has layers tannins and persistence

Had at Van Wine Festival.

2004 vintage was delicious at Fifth Grill and Terrace in Toronto. 12 years on quite healthy and robust.

Intense aromas of black cherry, vanilla, black pepper, thyme, provence herbs and landscapes of chocolate notes. Silky tannins and a touch of sweetness with a lingering and consistent long finish thanks to its toasted fruity aftertaste.

Held up much better than expected after all these years... Leathery, caramel, slightly overripe... But glad I opened it with a Z'hug rubbed roast with grilled chicories and a minty horseradish yogurt sauce
