Clear medium gold. Pronounced intensity with orange marmalade, apricots, honey dew and rye bread. Luscious sweetness with medium+ acid and low tannins. Full bodied with pronounced flavour intensity of orange marmalade and rye bread. Very good to outstanding. Drink now or could age further.

How do you describe good sauternes? Nectar of the gods? You just know it when you have it and this is a really good one.

I think that I hate Sauternes. I tried a cheaper one recently and hated it but chalked it up to being either a bad bottle or just too cheap to be good. This one seems to be well received and yet I still hate this style. Sure, maybe I'm drinking it way too early but I don't think the things that I hate about it will go away with more time. It was WAY too sweet for me and. No matter what I tried to pair with it (from super rich to sweet to starchy to bluest of cheese), nothing really worked to make it palatable to me. I thought the botrytis was also fairly obvious and not something I enjoyed. This tasted like straight honey and apricot jam mixed with lighter fluid. It said 13.5% ABV but it tasted more like 25% to me. I guess it is just not for me.
